Development Opportunities within Bipha

Junior Development Officer and Women’s Development Officer Positions

The role of our development officers is to increase opportunity and participation in inline hockey, ensuring that all clubs in all regions are aware of available activities and how they can be involved. In addition, the Officers should promote the sport widely to encourage new participants.

Development Officer key priorities

- Establish and maintain links with clubs, regions and the NGB - To use those contacts to identify gaps in provision and support needed- To develop solutions to those gaps and encourage clubs and regions to work together to develop initiatives to increase participation, whether this is through new starter events, friendlies, tournaments, shared coaching, camps etc- To promote awareness of and attendance at National Events eg Superleague, Summer Nationals and attendance at all trials and training. - Be an Ambassador for Bipha and promote female attendance at our events- To communicate regularly with the GB coaching team and in the case of the Women’s Development Officer, work closely with the Women’s coach. The need to establish a database of active female players is a vital first priority. - To ensure clubs are aware of and compliant with any communication and developments from the NGB- To research and share opportunities for training and funding for example through organisations such as Sported and Sport England. - To be willing to assist in at National events and travel between regions- Offer coaching and supervision when appropriate.

Development Officers must have a passion for the sport. Experience of playing or coaching is desirable. Enthusiasm for development at all ages, all clubs in all regions is essential, especially in those areas where there has been player and coach loss through Covid and particularly among underrepresented groups.Officers must be flexible, have a can-do attitude and be willing to look for creative solutions to the challenges ahead.
